What’s new with writing, Roll4d4, and the ever-expanding robot empire?
Green Folk is finished! This story was a necessary detour—a creative itch I just had to scratch. What started as a snarky takedown of modern consumerism ended up a chaotic action-war tale with goblins. Honestly? I’m cool with that.
I handled all the illustrations myself—AI-generated and then cleaned up manually. Luckily, most of that process is automatable, but getting it all together still took four back-to-back 12-hour marathons. Then came a solid month of writing and editing. I’ve still got bones to pick with it, but I’m letting it be what it wants to be.
Now that Green Folk is wrapped, it’s time to pivot back to the Roll4d4 system. I’ve got the whole thing sitting in bullet lists, just like the Quick Start Guide, but I’m ready to move beyond that. I want a proper rulebook with breathing room—something balanced between hyper-summarized lists and rich paragraph structure.
That said, I’m still wary of going full simulationist with a 1,000+ page tome… but hey, maybe that’s the brand? Forget one-page RPGs. Embrace the saga.
KLEP is next in line. I’m still experimenting with the ESP-01 chip and related microcontroller toys. Haven’t had as much time to play thanks to the book, but the plan is still in motion: build modular bots, hook them up to KLEP, and let symbolic AI run the show.
Once I get back to it, expect toy robots piloted by a homegrown AI, making terrible decisions in delightful ways. Can't wait.
